Dylan Brown

Dylan's parents had met and married young. Some people were able to defy the odds and make it and they were determined to not just be another statistic, but as the years went on it became clear they weren't suited for each other. She was sickly and secretive and he had issues with anger and alcohol, and even the birth of their son wasn't able to do much to help either.

Still, their relationship had been steady up until his mother discovered his father's infidelity. She confronted him just to confirm it and then over night she packed herself and Dylan up before leaving.

Dylan never saw his father again.

His mother took him to her hometown of Crest Hills. None of this was revealed to Dylan or explained right away, but his mother had left the town for college and that was where she had met his father. She had fallen in love with him and made the decision to never return, but that decision changed when she left him.

She worked as a nurse that specialized in knowledge regarding supernatural physiology and as an intermediary between the supernatural community and the human one. Any medical needs that a shifter might have, or wounds caused by a witch spell gone bad, or a vampire that would need blood were all handled by her.

Dylan didn't understand it at first, but as he got older he took more of an interest in his mother's work. He whole-heartedly embraced the idea of the supernatural and liked the thought of being a liaison between their world and his own. He found himself learning all she had to teach him and the idea of working alongside her one day seemed to be his future.

And it might have if she hadn't died suddenly shortly after he turned 18.

It was a shock, and Dylan found himself wanting to retreat mentally, but barely a week passed before there was a vampire knocking at the door of their - his, now - small house asking what she needed to do to get more bagged blood. Officially he couldn't be a nurse yet like his mother had been, but unofficially he knew everything she did when it came to treating the supernatural.

Dylan has only recently graduated from college with a nursing degree and has now officially taken over his mother's work in Crest Hills.

Dylan is an energetic young man who seems to have boundless energy. He lives his life helping people and enjoys the aid he can bring to the creatures of Crest Hills that would otherwise be left to fend for himself.

There is a slight downside to this however. Dylan is so used to giving his all to others that he's rather oblivious to people that care about him. He doesn't pick up on subtleties and tends to require a metaphorical sledgehammer to make him aware of how others feel about him.
